Computer Microsoft Word Problems!!!?

I was working on something on Micro one day, and I highlighted this part of a paragraph that I wanted to delete, and wen I hit the backspace button, the words didn't delete and it just stayed the same. I tried this a LOT of times, and still the highlighted stuff didn't delete...is there something wrong in my Microsoft settings or something??? HELP!!!

This is a Word option setting:

1.Click on the Tools-%26gt;Options menu item.

2.Click the Edit tab.

3.Under Editing Options, check the check box next to "Typing replaces selection".

4.Click OK.

That should do it.

yes there are Word settings

in word 2007 click on the MS icon in the top Left and select

Word Options / Advanced.

change what you need to

Un-install and then reboot and then re-install the program.

Use Add/Remove programs in the control panel to do this.
Click start -%26gt; All Programs -%26gt; Microsoft Office -%26gt; Microsoft Offce Tools -%26gt; Microsoft Office Diagnostics
