Did Microsoft rip-off Apple Mac OS X in Windows Vista? [Video]?

The New York Times columnist David Pogue checks to see if Microsoft ripped-off Apple's Mac OS X in Windows Vista.

What do you think about it?

I think Pogue has it nailed.

Yes, it's true the Apple engineers did drag Jobs down to PARC to see the Alto to convince him the Mac had to have a GUI, but that's about all the visit accomplished (other than a bit of stock changing hands). The Mac differed from and improved on Alto to such an extent that it in no way could be considered a copy or "ripoff" of it. Alto provided inspiration rather than a model.

Windows has been a 5 year later copy %26 ripoff of Mac OS since Version 1.0, and will continue to be so ...

鈥?Saying an OS is best cause most people use it is the same as saying McDs sells the best food there is 鈥?br>

Yes the new User interphaase was ripped of mac. They do it to each other but when mac does it it doesn't make the news
Of course they did. They take turns ripping each other off. It is an on going cycle. They can point fingers all they want, but both are guilty.
No, they both suck.
Yes and no. Vista is great with software. thats about it. but if you have a intel mac you can run windows vista,xp, or linux. Vista looks nice but yes it is just a nicer looking xp pro.
Yes. Microsoft is growing really desperate.
What the hell did Apple ever rip off from Microsoft?

Both of them just ripped off Xerox since Xerox was the first company to make a visual operating system.

All I know is that I have both operating systems... one of them eats my files and has to have the operating system reinstalled about every three months.

The other one has a working terminal, it looks pretty, and it even talks to me. I cant play many video games on it, but I could really care less because I own a Nintendo for that.
