how do i update our company intranet using microsoft sharepoint? I need to update our word documents in the master document (guide), post them into the shared library documents, then upload them. The links are not reading each other; one has a dot (.) in one and none in the other. for some reason my people in the company have no idea and find it really difficult to explain how this works. Who is a whiz on updating intranets?
Basic microsoft sharepoint, who's a good teacher on intranet's?vincent
Personally, I use Linux to create my company's intranet, which I find to be much more standard (and a hellavalot cheaper) than any MS extra features that just end up confusing me. Then again I'm not an ASP/.net programmer :)
From your explanation it seems more likely that there are just typos in the HTML. Clean up the links and you should be fine. It's hard to say more without seeing the code. In a Windows environment inks should have the full file path and name (including the .xxx, such as .doc or .pdf, as in \\computername\foldername\filename.exten... The other option is to just upload them into the appropriate directory on the server, and again make sure the path and filename are correct.
Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss this further.
