the program "microsoft office for mac " will work not the PC copy you probably have.....go to openoffice.org or neooffice these programs work like office for the mac and are free...
it will work if you're running Parallels or Bootcamp and running it in Windows. Otherwise you can buy Office (including Word) for Mac.
